About

About this site: This web blog will most likely follow my studies and interests in media as they progress. Right now, these are topics of media ownership, globalization, civic aspects of media such as citizen journalism, and of course this potentially empowering, endlessly fascinating “series of tubes” we call the Internet.

A valuable aspect of the net is that there are many, many folks out there who know a lot more than I do. What a chance to tap into that knowledge. So in that spirit, I hope this experiment serves as a opportunity to learn from and interact with an array of friends, colleagues, and strangers. My hope is that it might also be a call to action, if even in the smallest capacity.

Please feel free to leave comments, especially if you disagree with my take on something or want more info on a post.

  2. Hi Matt,

Wanted to talk to you about your music (wondering if you’re available to play a show June 8), but also very interested in the topic(s) of this blog as a “web professional” and a student of media theory. Please drop me a line when you get a chance… thanks!
